Optimizing Your Treatment

Pre-Treatment

Avoid sun exposure before treatment. Sunburned skin cannot be treated. If you have a history of perioral herpes, advise office so you may begin prophylactic antiviral therapy the day before treatment. 3 Days Before Treatment: Do not bleach, wax, tweeze or use depilatory creams in the treatment area. Discontinue use of retinoid and Hydroquinone products. Discontinue use of 10% or higher Alpha Hydroxyl Acids, Glycolic Acids, and exfoliants. Day of Treatment: Do not apply lotions, creams, makeup or deodorant in the area to be treated. Arrive with clean washed skin.

Day-Of Treatment

Redness might be present (and last up to several hours). Use Tylenol only as needed for any soreness. Do not pick or scratch treated skin but instead keep moisturized. Avoid strenuous exercise or sweating for 24 hours. Treat skin gently. Avoid sun exposure if possible and use a minimum of SPF 30 daily
